At Spirit Quest we know the good that travel can bring to the entire human community. But these benefits aren’t all necessarily automatic - so we’re working to support the causes we feel strongly about, and we’d like to invite you to join us. In addition to working to eliminate our "carbon footprint" we also support a children's charity project in every country/region that we travel to. If you’re interested, just look for the appropriate options on the “Make a Payment” page for your trip.
Carbon Offsetting
Our travel activities create carbon emmissions which contribute to global warming. To offset these we donate to Carbon Fund.org (http://www.carbonfund.org/site/) who then contribute to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation projects.
We donating to offset the impact of your land travel (hotel, bus, etc.). We invite you to join us by offsetting your air travel: the cost of offsetting varies by trip (for example it’s only $17.18 to offset a roundtrip flight from Los Angeles to Denpasar, Bali). Just look for that option on the "Make a Payment" page for your trip.
Bali Children’s Project
The Bali Children's Project (http://balichildrensproject.free.fr/) is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in Bali through education. It is founded on the belief that as children are empowered to realize their potential, they will enrich their villages and contribute to the world we all share. By providing opportunities for education, they are giving children the chance for a better tomorrow, while lightening the burdens of today.
Their programs include sponsorship of individual children, family support, school improvements and teacher training. To benefit even more children, the BCP is also active in creating Montessori-based kindergartens in a growing number of communities throughout Bali.
If you'd like to help we'll collect your donation (in $10 increments) and then present a single check from our group when we're in Bali. Just look for that option on the "Make a Payment" page.
