Peru | Where We'll Stay
Where you rest is no small part of a trip. After a full day of adventures, a good hotel gives you somewhere comfortable to pause. In Peru our accommodations provide that, and more. Decompress, enjoy a meal, indulge in a spa experience, or maybe even pet a baby alpaca! These lodgings have plenty of amenities, and character.
The stays on our Peru trip move through different landscapes, from Lima’s courtyards to Cusco’s historic center, the Urubamba River, and the shore of Lake Titicaca. Each location offers a different kind of rest.
Lima and Cusco: history in the details
Two nights in Lima at Antigua Casona Miraflores, a restored colonial manor with wooden balconies and quiet courtyards. Its on-site restaurant, Arte K-fe, serves Peruvian and international dishes, a diverse menu to cater to every palate. Take a breath on the garden patio for a slower moment between outings. It’s a welcoming start to the trip, with modern amenities and the comforts of a luxury hotel, all arranged around a beautiful historical building.
Five nights in Cusco bring a longer stay at Palacio del Inka, where we'll experience layers of the city's history. A historic landmark, the hotel occupies a 16th-century colonial palace built on Inca foundations. Its restaurant, Inti Raymi, serves fine cuisine, while the hotel bar, Rumi Bar, offers elegant bites within a historical setting. All guests are welcome to enjoy their thermal circuit for hydrotherapy and unwinding. There are even baby alpacas on the premises—a detail that honors traditional life in Cusco as Alpacas were considered the most important animals within the Inca civilization.
By the river and the lake
Two nights in Aguas Calientes at Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel puts us directly beside the Urubamba River. The hotel’s design and cuisine draw on Andean heritage, with Qunuq Restaurant and Suquy Café & Bar on site. This is a hotel with a heart. They are a Virtuoso Preferred Supplier and a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Following an on-site assessment by the SLH, The Suma was recognized as part of their 'Considerate Collection'. This selection of small luxury hotels are recognized by SLH, for their innovative sustainable practices and their commitment to local communities, environmental conservation, and cultural heritage.
The finale, two nights at GHL Lake Titicaca Hotel in Puno, lakeside luxury at 12,500 feet, where every window frames the highest navigable lake in the world. Adorable rooms that are spacious, bright and cozy, look out toward Lake Titicaca. The hotel’s Los Uros restaurant has a tasty menu and panoramic views of the Uros Islands. A wellness area includes a gym, jacuzzi, and sauna; plus supplemental oxygen is available around the clock.
These aren’t interchangeable stops with different names on the door. The settings change, and so does the feel of each stay: a courtyard in Lima, a historic palace in Cusco, a riverside hotel in Aguas Calientes, and a lakeside pause in Puno. Comfort matters, of course. So does having a place that feels truly connected to where you are.
